Why I volunteer with Portsmouth Pride
I volunteer for Portsmouth Pride because I believe in the power of visibility, community, and unapologetic queer joy. As a long-time supporter and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, it means the world to me to be part of something that uplifts and empowers so many. For over 8 years, I’ve supported Pride events all across the city—capturing everything from vibrant parades to intimate community moments. I volunteer both professionally and personally—serving as the official photographer and media partner, and leading the photography and videography team. That means documenting the magic of the day, coordinating a crew of talented creatives, and making sure every beautiful, bold, and emotional moment is preserved. For me, it’s never just about photos—it’s about amplifying queer voices, creating safe spaces, and celebrating the full spectrum of our community with love and intention.
Favourite Moment
A moment I will never forget was in my second year photographing Portsmouth Pride in 2018. I was waiting by the bandstand at our old location, and I was waiting for people to arrive. As I look over, I see the biggest crowd I had seen in Portsmouth coming over the hill, I remember shedding a tear because I felt so much love and joy from the city I grew up in!

Come say Hi!
If you see me at any Pride event or know I have taken a picture of you, please come say hi! Or reach out online, I can be found at @goblephotography on all social media platforms.
I love chatting and building relationships with all members of our community. See if you can find me on Southsea Common on Sat 7th June with Portsmouth Pride as we host UK Pride 2025! (And if I'm looking a bit sun burnt, remind me to stop and have a drink and get into the shade 😅)
