THIS IS ME!
My name is Chantale and I'm a professional photographer, visual artist and digital creative! I'm based near Chichester, West Sussex but thanks to my amazing job, I often get to travel.
I'm a glass-half-full kind of girl and believe kindness is what makes the world go round. I try to focus on life's positives and stay happy by being endlessly grateful for the amazing job I have and for all of the wonderful people I have in my life.
When I'm not exploring, you'll find me at home binge-watching series of Grace & Frankie, Rupauls Drag Race or crime documentaries on Netflix with my little french bulldog Cocoa and fiance Georgia.
I feel extremely grateful to have figured out what I love doing the most and to have been able to turn it into a successful business. I try never to take for granted how lucky I am to be "working" doing something that sets me on fire. I get to visit new places and meet lots of beautiful, colourful people, which is one of the best parts of my job! If you couldn't tell, I absolutely love what I do and I hope my own happiness and joy really reflects in the work that I produce for my customers.
MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY
My journey into photography started at an early age when I was given my first "proper" camera, handed down to me from my Grandad. I soon realised how magical it is to be able to preserve precious moments with your family through the art of taking photos.
I regularly look back on photos I've taken because they instantly transport me right back to the moment I took the photograph, allowing me to savour and re-live all the happiness I felt at the time of taking it. It's the depth of emotions which can be captured, saved and re-lived that inspire me and make me so passionate about capturing the same for other people to share with their families.
I studied photography at Portsmouth College and Bournemouth Arts University, achieving an A* at college. Halfway through my degree, I left to take care of my nan after my grandad passed away but my love of photography never left and I'm proud to say that most of my skills are self-taught.
Instead of forgetting about my dream of becoming a photographer, I studied relentlessly from home, learning absolutely everything I could about photography. I took LOTS of online classes and workshops run by some of the most skilled photographers there are, read lots of books, worked with a local photographer for experience and got a job in a camera shop to again further my knowledge for years before I decided to start my business. And here we are now!
One thing I'm really passionate about is equality for all which is why I work with local charities, such as Portsmouth Pride, to help raise awareness and campaign for positive change. For me, it's really important to give back to the community in some way.
